Jarrard Cole
Class of 2012

Bi-weekly report, 25 July 2010

My first five weeks with the Wall Street Journal could not have gone better or faster.

By the end of the first week, I had run graphics and a camera on the wsj.com live shows, served as a second camera on a shoot in the field, and edited a video piece to go with a Page One story that was one of the site’s most viewed.

More.

Since then, I have been regularly running the camera for two shows each day, editing projects that WSJ reporters have filmed, producing my own stories, proposing segments for the daily live show on technology, and working long, exciting hours.

I am fortunate to be in a position that trusts me to produce good work. I can pitch my own stories and am limited only by my ability to produce them.

My work has been on the front page of www.wsj.com, so I have access to a huge audience.

I am pushed creatively and as a journalist to do the best work I can, given this unbelievable opportunity.
