I never thought I would spend so much time thinking about fonts, or having nightmares about misplaced commas. . . .

But in all seriousness, I love being involved with Campus BluePrint, and it’s been so amazing to see it grow from a tiny, pixilated magazine to a respected part of the campus dialogue.

Campus BluePrint October 2010

Young Democrats started Campus BluePrint after what we termed “The Obama Semester” ended. We were looking for another way to keep up the liberal spirit after putting away our campaign posters and bullhorns.

I started as a writer, and eventually became an editor, and now serve as editor-in-chief. The opportunity to work closely with the writers—as well as the YD officers, the printing folk, and my other editors—has helped me appreciate how much work goes into a publication.

I never thought I would spend so much time thinking about fonts, or having nightmares about misplaced commas, and I never realized the strong positive correlation between deadlines and mysterious illnesses.

But in all seriousness, I love being involved with Campus BluePrint, and it’s been so amazing to see it grow from a tiny, pixilated magazine to a respected part of the campus dialogue.

It doesn’t hurt to have a strong contingent of dedicated Morehead Scholars on staff, either.
