It’s very difficult to explain to someone who has never spent such an extended period of time completely out of their comfort zone exactly how much of an effect it can have on you.
When you realize at the end of it all that you have moved from your state of shock into a state of comfort with your new home—such that leaving is harder than you expected—that’s when you know you learned how to live in someone else’s world.
